The same holds true with our work experience
I feel fortunate to have acquired the marketing background which I have.
Whether experience followed my temperament or vice versa is a moot.
It's provided me with a rich opportunity to assess/assist emerging
and maturing companies in their day-to-day business travails.
Having undertaken many business endeavors, personally,
I know well of the daily trench battles.
Few are pretty; some, ugly!
At its elements, business is simple:
Raise revenue through sales; pay all the bills incurred in this endeavor, and
"Keep The Change."
To "up" profits, increase income relative to expenses.
When income exceeds outgo, you're profitable.
When it doesn't, you're not...
"End of Class!"
In reality, business is not simple:
In the short haul, it's easier to decrease expenses than to increase profits.
But such actions may sabotage growth by cutting critical budgets.
Making this decision is what executive management is about.
It's darn tough, especially if one "owns" the problem.
Entrepreneurs with pledged homes take note!
Here's where another set of eyes helps to focus issues and actions...
"Call the class back into session!"
Marketing is the driving force to a firms on-going money source...
It's a financial perpetual motion of sorts. Its goal is to find and keep customers.
To do so, it must get them to like the company's offer over the other firms'.
Though marketing is an art -- not a science -- I have established disciplines.
These frameworks optimizes the opportunity to succeeed.
True... Luck is a part of business.
But, it must be the turbo-charge, not the on-going propulsion.
My consulting is grounded in this belief and one other simple truth...
"Better tomorrows are rooted in good todays!"
